St. Josephine Bakhita Parish’s Confirmation Class Learns and Gives Back
One Sunday this December, the Confirmation class from St. Josephine Bakhita Parish put together bags for the ImmaCare Shelter clients. The drawstring backpacks were filled with goodies, including candy, hot chocolate, two $5 Dunkin Donuts gift cards, a deck of cards, granola bars, and other snacks. The bags are to be donated during the Grinder Ladies’ Christmas Party on December 22. At the party, each client will also receive a new tee shirt and new pair of socks.
During the bag filling gathering, Mike Grace, ImmaCare’s Shelter Shift Supervisor, spoke to the students about the shelter, the clients, and what we do at ImmaCare to help empower our clients to rise out of homelessness. He shared a real account of what it’s like in the shelter and where the clients are on their journey when they come to us. We are grateful for the opportunity to share this information with the students and even more so for their generosity and support of our clients!
