ImmaCare’s direct service staff recently participated in part
one of a two-part course on Mental Health First Aid sponsored by the CT Chapter
of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Mental Health First Aid teaches how to identify,
understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use
disorders. The course introduces staff to risk factors and warning signs of
mental health concerns, builds understanding of their impact and teaches how to
effectively respond to mental health and addiction-related crisis.
