A Generous Surprise from Avon High School

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Matthew Mooney of Avon High School wanted to give back and support ImmaCare. His involvement with the agency began by helping to serve dinner at the shelter with the St. Ann’s food group many years ago. On May 15th, Matt, along with many teachers and volunteers of the Avon School System, organized a “drive-by” donation drive of much-needed pantry items to benefit ImmaCare. This week, they delivered five SUVs full of items, as well as $2,000! When reflecting on the drive, Matt said, “The outpouring of support goes to show that even during our darkest times people are always willing to lend a hand and help those who need it most. I anticipated a good turnout because the Avon community has always been so generous, but this Food Drive exceeded my expectations. I am grateful to work in this community and look forward to our next venture together.”
