Alexis Manu joined ImmaCare in 2015. Prior to working at ImmaCare, Ms. Manu worked at Hartford Hospital as a Rehabilitation Technician supporting patients as they worked on improving their quality of life while engaging in physical therapy. Although she found this work rewarding, she wanted to help people on a mental, emotional and social level. Ms. Manu took the first steps to pursue and improve her career by completing her bachelor’s degree in Social Work at the University of Saint Joseph. While pursuing her BSW, she worked with troubled youth involved in the juvenile justice system at Catholic Charities; she also worked as a temporary Social Worker at East Hartford High School.
In May 2017, Ms. Manu completed her Masters in Social Work from the University of Saint Joseph. Upon graduation she shared, “I love being a Social Worker; it is a phenomenal feeling knowing that I can help others empower themselves and improve their lives.”
Ms. Manu is proud of the path she has taken to get to where she is today, and looks forward to where it will take her. A quote that resonates with her by Diane Ackerman is, “I don’t want to get to the end of my life and find that I just lived the length of it. I want to live the width of it as well.”
