Game Night and Dinner with the UHART Hawks

The University of Hartford Men’s Soccer Team came to ImmaCare’s Shelter in full-force! The team of 27 men, which included players and coaches alike, showed up in their red Hawks gear, ready to help out and bring some smiles to the men staying at the Shelter. The team assisted to put finishing touches on the evening’s meal, then everyone took a station and helped serve dinner. The team also helped Don, the Shelter Cook, clean-up and brought the kitchen back to spotless. But it didn’t stop there! The team came ready to compete- at Bingo and Poker, that is! They brought tons of wonderful prizes, all UHART Soccer gear—from winter coats, to shirts, shorts, hats…something for everyone. The evening was a great success, both the team and clients enjoyed each other’s company. Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach Mike Kulas said, “It was a privilege to come down to spend some time with the clients and help out. Both the clients and players were able to enjoy company that maybe they were not used to keeping. I think it was a win-win for everyone, and we hope to come back again soon. Thank you to Mike Grace and the staff for welcoming us.”
